Affiliate Disclosure

Effective Date: January 15, 2024 Last Updated: April 14, 2026

The Short Version

Some of the links on EMPSurvive.com are affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, we may earn a small commission — at no extra cost to you. This revenue helps us keep the site running, fund equipment testing, and continue producing free survival guides.

Our recommendations are never for sale. If we recommend a product, it's because we believe it works. If something doesn't meet our standards, we'll say so — affiliate program or not.

What Are Affiliate Links?

Affiliate links are specially tracked URLs provided by retailers and product companies. When you click an affiliate link on our site and make a purchase, the retailer pays us a small referral fee. This is a standard practice across the internet and does not affect the price you pay.

Our Affiliate Partnerships

We currently participate in affiliate programs including, but not limited to:

  • Amazon Associates Program — As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases. Amazon and the Amazon logo are trademarks of Amazon.com, Inc. or its affiliates.
  • Individual product partnerships — We work directly with select survival gear and preparedness product companies whose products we have evaluated and recommend.

How We Choose What to Recommend

Our editorial process is straightforward:

  1. We identify products relevant to EMP preparedness — based on reader questions, emerging threats, and gaps in available guidance
  2. We research and evaluate — examining specifications, reading independent reviews, and when possible, testing equipment ourselves
  3. We write honest assessments — including limitations, alternatives, and scenarios where a product may not be the right fit
  4. If an affiliate program exists, we may use an affiliate link — but only after the editorial decision to recommend has already been made

We will never:

  • Recommend a product solely because it has an affiliate program
  • Hide significant drawbacks to protect a commission
  • Rank products based on commission rates rather than quality
  • Create fake urgency or misleading claims to drive clicks

How This Revenue Is Used

Affiliate commissions directly support:

  • Content creation — Research, writing, and updating our guides and reviews
  • Equipment testing — Purchasing products for hands-on evaluation
  • Site operations — Hosting, security, and infrastructure costs
  • Free resources — Including our survival guide PDFs and planning tools

Your Choice

You are never obligated to use our affiliate links. If you prefer, you can navigate directly to any retailer's website and search for the product independently. We appreciate when you do use our links — it's how we keep the lights on — but your trust matters more than any commission.

FTC Compliance

This disclosure is provided in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission's (FTC) guidelines on endorsements and testimonials. We are committed to full transparency about our financial relationships with the companies whose products we discuss.

Questions?

If you have questions about our affiliate relationships or want to understand how a specific recommendation was made, reach out through our Contact page. We're happy to explain our reasoning.
