About EMP Survive

Our Mission

At EMP Survive, we exist for one reason: to give you the knowledge and tools to protect your family when the grid goes dark.

An electromagnetic pulse event — whether from a solar storm, a high-altitude nuclear detonation, or a deliberate attack on critical infrastructure — isn't science fiction. It's a documented, studied, and increasingly probable threat. And yet, most people have no plan for it.

We're here to change that.

Who We Are

EMP Survive was founded by Morgan Reed, a survival systems specialist with deep expertise in infrastructure resilience, off-grid power systems, and emergency preparedness planning. After years of watching mainstream media either ignore or sensationalize the EMP threat, Morgan built this platform to cut through the noise and deliver what actually matters: practical, actionable strategies that work.

Our content is developed in collaboration with the Survival Engineering Division, a research and testing team focused on evaluating equipment, validating survival techniques, and stress-testing preparedness plans against real-world scenarios.

What We Do

Every article, guide, and review on this site is built around a simple standard: would this actually help someone survive?

  • In-depth guides on EMP preparedness, from understanding the science to building your first Faraday cage
  • Equipment reviews based on real testing — not affiliate-driven fluff
  • Urban and rural survival strategies tailored to different living situations
  • Free resources including survival guide PDFs and 72-hour action plans

We don't sell fear. We provide frameworks. The difference between panic and preparedness is a plan — and that's exactly what we help you build.

Our Standards

We take accuracy seriously. Our content is:

  • Research-backed — grounded in published studies, government reports (including the EMP Commission findings), and field-tested techniques
  • Regularly updated — threats evolve, and so does our guidance
  • Honest about limitations — we'll tell you when a product doesn't live up to the hype, even if it costs us a commission

Why This Matters

The U.S. power grid was not designed to withstand a large-scale EMP event. Recovery timelines measured in months — not days — are the realistic scenario. In that gap between the event and restored services, your survival depends on what you knew and what you prepared before it happened.

That window of preparation is right now. And we're here to help you use it.
